90pts, what does it mean today? Nothing! There has been a dilution of grading! If your grandmother made wine today, she would get 90pts! Not so! Not even close! There are so many wines rating 9opts today, because they are worthy of that yard marker! And why is that? Because winemakers today have access to better wine making apparatus, and more important, they have better technical training in viticulture and the art of fashioning wine in the cellar, and having earned advanced degrees in institutions like UC Davis they go on to produce 90pt rated wines! Does 90pts guarantee you will like the wine? No, but you can be assured in a highly rated wine the quality will be there, now it’s up for you to decide if you like it. Are all these highly rated 90+ rated wines expensive? NO! And that may be the surprise. There are wines that cross the 90pt threshold that are priced under thirty bucks! Join us on Saturday and see for yourself!
