This is one of the best values we sell from any region. We have had this wine in now for a few vintages, and it always sells out.

The grapes for this wine come from just outside the AOC of Chateauneuf. If you are familiar with "Coudelet de Beaucastel" or the "Plan de Dieu" we offer from Clos St Antonin, this is a similar dynamic. While this wine is priced around $20 and it is affordable, it delivers way beyond its modest pricepoint. Jean Royer was trained by Phillipe Cambie who was one of the greatest winemakers to ever grace the Rhone Valley. 

If you enjoy Medium bodied reds, from the southern rhone or anywhere else for that matter, this is a must try! 

Winemakers Tasting Notes: A blend of Mouvedre, Grenache and Syrah. Hailing from vineyard sites both in and outside of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and thus, part of the wine is actually a declassified Châteauneuf-du- Pape. This wine enjoys notes of blackberry and crushed herbs followed up by flavors of black pepper and spice. This wine is a perfect pairing with lamb and other red meats.
