Georges Blanc Fleur d’Azenay Mâcon Villages 2021
George Blanc is a renowned Chef and Restaurateur. George was a Finalist at the Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 1976 (Award for the best Craftsman in France). His reputation was then cemented when he was awarded his third star from the famous Guide Michelin in 1981. In the same year, George was also awarded sought-after title of “Cook of the Year” by the Gault et Millau restaurant guide.
Great wines are part and parcel of his restaurant Village Blanc, enhanced by Georges Blanc’s passion for this nectar. Chef Blanc has always strived to understand the perfect chemistry between food and wine. In 1970, while he was already the Chef and head of the company, he was awarded the Best Burgundy Sommelier prize. This is how he got hooked, and the passion is still alive. George planted his own vineyards in the 80’s. On 42 acres of Chardonnay, the Domaine d’Azé situated in Southern Burgundy produces very pleasant wines such as Crémant de Bourgogne, Mâcon Village and White Burgundy.
