Bodegas y Viñedos Korta was founded in the 1990s by the Corta Bucarey family of Basque origin, in the Maule Valley. It is specifically located in the Sagrada Familia Designation of Origin, renowned for its rural traditions and the exceptional quality of its soils and climate for viticulture.

In 1997, the marriage of Francisco Corta Gurruchaga and Amanda Bucarey Fuentes acquired the historic Santa Ana de Peteroa estate, one of the most emblematic in the region, where a memorial commemorates the death of the Mapuche chief Lautaro. With unwavering rigor and experience in the fruit industry, and with the assistance of expert advisors in viticulture and winemaking, they began planting grape varieties such as Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Carignan, among others. Today, Korta Wines produces wines with personality and territorial character, a family-owned company passionate about wine and committed to its region and its people.

Winemakers Tasting Notes: Intense aromas of ripe black fruits, blackberries, plums, and blackcurrants. On the palate, the attack is pleasant, silky and elegant. It is a fresh and harmonious wine where the fruit, wood, and acidity come together with good structure and power. Notes of coffee, leather, and tobacco emerge towards the finish.

COMPOSITION: 40% Petit Verdot, 20% Syrah, 20% Carménère, 20% Cabernet Franc

Baking spices invade the nose and palate of this Petit Verdot-based blend. Flavors of black fruit and hints of dried basil leaves mingle over a soft texture and disappear in a fresh finish. Price $30
