Memory Mourvedre El Dorado 2020
Chris Pratt is an incredible winemaker. Chris got his start in the trade wines for Karl Lawrence as well as Sequoia Grove. Chris then went on to become the assistant winemaker @ Staglin and AdamVS on Howell Mtn. Shortly thereafter Chris was introduced to Grant Long Jr. Chris has now been Grant’s right hand man @ both Aonair and Reverie II for over a decade.
Tasting Notes: Dark purple hue. Aromas of dark, brambly, blueberry aromas are matched with dried herbs, earth and undergrowth. On the palate, classic blue fruits deliver a rich and velvety mouth feel. The tannins are savory, grippy and sandy-textured big but not overwhelming. The finish brings a warm stone note.
This wine would make an insanely good BB-Q Red. Full bodied red wines like this beg your palate for rich foods, specifically red meat.
