 Tether Cabernet is a project put together by Kimberly Jones. While her name might not resonate with you, I am sure the labels, Scarecrow, Maybach, Realm, or Ovid should. These are some of the most collected wines sourced from Napa today and are kept in the best of the best cellars around the world. Kimberly Jones is the broker that represents these Cult labels and many more.

The birth of Kimberly’s private label did not happen by accident. With nearly 4 decades in the industry and having blue-chip connections that can source her top-quality fruit, Tether is a direct result of these relationships. All the fruit is sourced from Sustainably farmed vineyards.

Kimberly teamed up with Anna Montecelli on this project, they have worked on projects all over the world together. The name for the label came about because no matter what region they produced wine in, they always felt “Tethered” to Napa. Anna is quite an accomplished winemaker. Educated @ UC Davis, Anna got her feet wet working harvests at Cheval Blanc in Bordeaux. Anna was also the assistant wine maker at Bryant and the lead winemaker at Pina.

Winemaker’s Tasting Notes: The 2021 Tether Cabernet Sauvignon is an extraordinary example of this iconic varietal, hailing from a fantastic vintage in the Napa Valley. This wine leaps from the glass with intense aromas of black currant, blackberry, and ripe black cherry. Complex layers of the wine’s bouquet continue to evolve in the glass, showcasing hints of crushed volcanic rock, mocha, subtle spice and slow toasted French oak. This compelling wine possesses a gorgeous mid-palate, fantastic structure, elegant, refined tannins, and an engaging finish.
