Though the vast majority of Turley's wines are single vineyard designates, Juvenile is actually composed of a variety of young vines that have been replanted in several of their best old vine sites. Turley tags the younger vines then pick them separately ato make a distinct wine. Juvenile vines range in age from about 6-25 years, and Turley pulls from a selection of their best vineyards across California.
A jammy bomb of fruit, offering cherry pie and ripe raspberry flavors accented with toasty spice and briar notes as this energetic Zin zips along the zesty finish.
The 2022 Zinfandel Juvenile is a remarkably expressive and over-performing iteration of this wine, composed of young vines from nearly three dozen sites across California. The nose combines sweet red fruits, roasted plums and leather with autumnal, spice-driven accents. The palate is medium-bodied with detailed layers of easygoing, succulent fruits. The finish is welcomely dustier and more structured than the nose and palate would suggest and concludes with a bright spine of quenching acidity.
