I recently came across an article on winemaker Larry Mckenna, better known as “The Prince of Pinot”. Larry was recently inducted into New Zealand’s Wine hall of fame; many have argued that he is the best Pinot winemaker to have graced New Zealand. Having tasted the best of what New Zealand has to offer in the likes of Pinot, Craggy Range, Kusuda, Burn Cottage, I would put the wines produced by Escarpment up there with all of them.
